Being broke sucks. It’s mentally and emotionally exhausting, and you’re tired of it.
You know something has to give, changes must be made, but you have no clue where to begin.
Do you start with your debt? Which one – credit cards or car loans? And how do you pay those off when you’re already living paycheck to paycheck?
Maybe a “side hustle” is the answer. Your current job(s) aren’t paying the bills, so you need to find a way to make more money. But where’s the time for that?
The fact that you’re here right now tells me you know something isn’t right with your financial life.
But maybe you…
- Have no clue where you’re going wrong or how to fix it
- Tried budgeting but weren’t able to stick to your plan
- Are so buried in bills that there doesn’t seem to be a way out
Wherever you are in your financial journey is not where you want to be.
You want to get control of your spending and create a plan you’ll actually stick to.
You’re ready to turn your financial situation around.
But you’re not really sure how to get there. You feel stuck, overwhelmed.
Trust me when I say I know the feeling.
But here’s what I believe…
- I believe everyone has the potential to make their current situation better (financial or otherwise). Oftentimes they just need the right tools and a little guidance.
- I believe personal finance doesn’t have to be scary. In fact (get your stones ready), I think it can be fun.
- I believe money can and should be used as a tool to help you achieve your most important life goals, whether that means traveling the world, starting your own business, or saving for your kids’ education.
- I also believe puppy cuddles and dark chocolate are the ultimate cure for pretty much any bad day. #YeahISaidIt
Here’s the gist: you’re tired of living life the way you currently are, and I’m here to teach you how to rock your finances like you never thought possible.
My name is Megan, and I’m your bank account’s new best friend. I’m here to reconcile (get it?) the differences between you two and put you on the track to financial success.
How did I get here?
I grew up knowing next to nothing about money. (My dad told me bank CDs were a good investment, so that’s what I was working with.)
It just wasn’t something that was talked about in my household.
As a matter of fact, I was made to believe from a very young age that money was filthy, and people who had it were generally bad.
Of course, I didn’t realize this when I was skinning my knees riding no handlebars style on my two-sizes-too-big-for-me bike. #HardcoreKid
Being told that money was bad or evil, naturally it piqued my interest.
We’ll chalk it up to teenage rebellion.
The first personal finance course I took was my senior year of high school, and I. was. HOOKED.
You mean to tell me you can actually grow your money just by putting it in a certain place and leaving it alone (i.e. investing)? Tell me more.
To balance the do-gooder within and my interest in finance, I studied financial planning in college.
I had always known that whatever career I chose, I wanted my work to be in service of others.
So fast forward to my senior year and I’m struggling with the idea of making more money as a fresh college graduate than what my parents make after 25+ years in the workforce.
Does that make me a bad person? I don’t deserve this much money. What about all the other people who are struggling to make ends meet? What will my family think when they realize how much money I make?
I considered dropping out of college my last semester and going back to waiting tables.
Then we started learning about money scripts in one of my classes.
Money scripts are these unconscious beliefs we have about money, usually based on early childhood experiences.
One of mine, as you may recall, was that money was bad, and that making any substantial amount of it meant I was, too. Money Harmony refers to this personality type as the Money Monk.
Long story short, once I realized what was happening and where this idea stemmed from, I was able to change my perception of money and start using it more intentionally.
And I didn’t have to go back to waiting tables. (Which is good because I’m far too clumsy for that.)
Now I help others overcome their personal roadblocks and kick financial ass.
Whether you’re struggling to stick to a budget or have enough money and can’t figure out how to use it, I can help.
Together, we’ll set meaningful goals for your future, create a roadmap to achieve them, and celebrate your successes along the way.
It’s time to say goodbye to broke and hello to the life you deserve.
